I feel like a LOT of people go overboard with this shipping. I'm not saying I don't like them as a couple, but JESUS! Half the people on this site treat it like frickin' Aragorn and Arwen. If any of you must know, this is what SonAmy means to me:
In my opinion, Sonic and Amy should be dating as a battle couple; whereas Sonic is happy with their relationship as-is, but Amy desperately wants to take it to the next level. Amy, keeping with the comedic character that I LOVE about her, wants Sonic to just put a 'ring' on IT (which really isn't all that unrealistic when you think about it). But Sonic, being the cool freedom-loving hero who just likes to go where he wants without consequence, doesn't want to be tied down with a family (keep in mind that he's still a teenager, whatever you theorize they decide to do as adults is fine by me). So really, SonAmy can be both sweet; with seeing these two on dates, fighting badniks along side each other, occasionally rescuing one-another; and hilarious; with Amy constantly chasing him down, trying to force the ball-and-chain on him.
This doesn't have to be that complex, guys! A couple with chemistry like this can be both romantic and funny at the same time. I like SonAmy just fine, but the last thing I want is to see it all Twilighted-up. With Shadow as Jacob.
